Bedford Flag “Jupiter & The Right hand of God” Soverign Right to Rule!

Back in February 2011, I received my copy of the book “The Bedford Flag Unfurled” by Sharon L. McDonald. Sharon was the Librarian at the Bedford Free Public Library in Bedford, Massachusetts for for many years.

My interest in contacting her, involved my ongoing historical flag research. Where I mentioned to her that a flag that resided in the Redwood Library could be older or in the same time period of the Bedford flag that could date back to the time of Charles I & II.

800px-Bedford_Flag_at_Bedford_Library

Sharon, conducted one of the finest research studies on the Bedford flag and should be greatly commended for her public service and dedication to one of the earliest datable & important flags surviving in the America’s today!

Sharon L. McDonald was such a sweetheart that after our wonderful conversation, she sent me a signed copy of her book that was free of charge! After several years, I have the privallage of being able to give her information that advances the provenance of the Flag that is indisputable in the vexillology world!

The Bedford flag show a heavenly cloud with a right arm in armor holding a sword. There is a swallow tailed ribbon with the latin motto VINCE AUT MORIRE (“Conquer Or Die”). From the clouds we see three orbs floating in the sky, advancing. Sharon wrote on Page 2 & 3 it is mentioned the ball or spheres over the years were identified as cannonballs, but she says their original meaning is unknown! Adding she says “The three balls on the Bedford flag beg for explanation”?

Sharons explanation can be now explained! The arm has nothing to do with God is on our side, which is a bunch of uneducated guessing! Why would people call the “White Balls” cannonballs? Below you can see two or three esoteric letter “E” symbols that the basic artists guild meaning of the day stood for “Emmanuel”, as in Jesus Christ! Giving the arm symbolism as the “RIGHT HAND OF GOD”!

IMG_2476

(EE above maybe a blur to viewers, refer to the larger scale image at the top of the page. The EE is very clear)

Generally with 17th-18th century ribbons or scrolling in art, we find the symbolism of the Snake or Worm head  at the end of the ribbon or this case the swallow tail of the ribbon scroll work. The snake and worm that represents Jesus Christ on the cross using his words “Im but just a Worm”. Both the art and scroll tips go hand in hand with an actual guild artist making this actual flag!

Thankfully, some of the early American Revolutionary War regimental flags of the colony of Connecticut survive. Like the Guidon of the Second Regiment of Continental Light Dragoons, also known as Tallmadge’s Dragoons seen below.

(Note that the Scroll ends below on the flag are worms)

Connecticut flagThe arrows are a variant on the Thunderbolt theme.
The wings are of the Eagle, the bird sacred to Rome Legions and Jupiter.
All of the symbols combined are meant to give the impression that the Jupiter spiritually marches at the head of the Roman Army, watching over the soldiers and guiding them to victory.

Jupiter being the God of the sky and thunder, siting before and eagle and a globe. Painting on a wall surviving in Pompeii. The three circles on the Bedford flag can now factually be called globes, associated to Jupiter that are advancing to meet the enemy. More than likely with the Bedford flag being British, it would be symbolic to the times of the Cavaliers fighting the Round heads.  The term Cavalier was first used by Roundheads as a term of abuse for the wealthier Royalist supporters of King Charles I and his son Charles II of England during the English Civil War, the Interregnum, and the Restoration (1642 – c. 1679).

Painting of a bearded, seated Jupiter, unclothed from the waist up and holding a staff

Why would I refer the Bedford Flag as a Cavalier flag, Loyalist symbolism associated to the Stuarts? If you do advanced genealogy on the Page family behind the flag, you will find they are related in the mix! Below is a basic link to Sir Richard Robert Page and his wife’s maiden name was Mudge. Just like the address street with the Bedford flags resides at the Library being 7 Mudge Way, Bedford , MA. Somewhere we have direct family or direct cousins linked.

One problem in the way of sending Page’s unfortunate two small sons to England was that Sir Richard’s brother Thomas seems to have had some doubts about the paternity of his two reputed nephews and so may have been reluctant to assume responsibility for them. The fate of the two children remains a mystery, as Hyde …

A flag of similar design hangs in the Binnenhof in The Hague circa 1651. The image of an arm holding a sword is common in European heraldry at least as early as the 16th century. Keep in mind that Sir Richard was exiled to Holland with many loyalist to the Stuart King. Another person should be mentioned associated with another flag design who was another Cavalier.

Taken from the book “A History of Irish Flags from Earlier Times” by GA Hayes McCoy. Here you see Major General’s flag design flown by his Irish Troops, loyal to the Stuarts. Note that  spectroscopic analysis of the paint on the Bedford flag revealed the pigment called “Prussian blue”, which did not exist before 1704. King James II and VII had died in 1701. The odds are that if the flag was made just after 1704, then were are looking at the Bedford MA. family who preserved the flag “Page Family” most likely were Loyalist Jacobites. Where the family was always loyal to the Stuart cause and if the Page family are the bloodlines directly to Sir Richard Robert Page or direct cousins. You would bet that a great way to upset a bunch of British Hanoverians during the outbreak of the American Revolution would be to fly a Loyalist Stuart flag of such!

Keep in mind this paper would upset many vexillologists, who are clueless to British history. Would still say you can’t link the Bedford flag to the Stuarts and Jacobites. Except we actually can link the flag to the exiled Stuart Kings.

HopkinsonGreatSealDesignObverse.jpg

Above is one of the early United States, proposed drawing by the Scottish Guild Artist Robert Scot (Jacobite). The history of a kid named Barton was fantasy, to prevent Scot from every getting put on a hit list by the British. We see a type of floral art that is a secret symbol to the exiled Stuarts. Where you also see them in four locations on the Bedford flag. There is a combination in the symbol that shows a type of arrow also! This is also found on the Jacobite buttons with the two arrows pointing to an X for the symbol of Scotland or St. Andrews Cross. Note the Roman and Minerva, they are not addressed as a Roman or Minerva. Also the proposed obverse seal drawing has a lady Liberty seated with the pole and liberty cap! Again, scholars wrote out of history that that symbolism was Prince Charles Edward Stuarts propaganda symbolism before the 1745 Uprising. Look real close at the Bedford flags, Sword guard, note the worms curled as the guard.

Princetons, Clay Medal by Scot.jpg

Pictured above is the fully documented historical medal that Robert Scot made for the University of Princeton. Note between the word Clay and Merit is the most perfect match of the symbolism mentioned above as a Scottish sovereign symbol found on the Bedford Flag. There are examples of the symbol with the arrows that you can see below on the Jacobite Button.

WI 3-A ALBERTS ILLUSTRATION-2.JPGWI 3-A ALBERTS ILLUSTRATION.JPG

Interesting thing is that button scholars had always misinterpreted this button as being a George Washington inaugural button. You see “The Majesty of the People” with the morning star that is the badge symbol of the Knights Garter and Thistle. The two arrows point to the Cross of St. Andrews to let you know its symbolic to Bonnie Prince Charles “Charles Edward Stuart” or specifically to who is the rightful heir to the thrown of England, Scotland, Ireland and America! Not having to place any documented sources, this morning Star symbolism, symbolizes “Jupiter and is the 8 pointed star badge that the king and order of the Garter & Thistle wore on their left breast!

Pictured above is the 1783 Half Size Great seal that is located at at the Museum in Washington Crossing NJ. This is the controversial relic that the United States Government refuses to police. ICE and the FED’s gave South Korea 2 or 3 lost jade seals that were stolen but will not police this relic today!

Pictured from the birds head, on his breast, sitting on top of the center of the shield is the “2” symbol that also represents Jupiter. All goes hand in hand with all the information presented, regarding the Bedford flag! From a modern day point of view, these people were really far out there with their symbols. But there is an old saying “Symbols Rule The World”!

One of the most historically important relics for showing the path of the “Cross Roads of Freemasonry” through the Military Lodges of England & Scotland and the Starry Lodge with the Irish. The most direct history through General Monk with the Scottish Sovereigns to the symbolism of the United States Sovereign identity.

Masonic Lodge #64, Knight Templar Asembly seal that dates from 1784-1791 with the Military Masonic Lodge of Pennsylvania that has the most direct link to all the origins of Freemasonry in all the American Colonies. Traced from Greensburg PA. & the Pittsburg, PA. Military fort history via Boston and New England. Earlier history links the Military of the Scottish and Irish Regimental Foot Guards with the West Indies and Novia Scotia in the first decades of the 18th century.

The seal was made by the Philadelphia engraving guild artists by Scotsman and Jacobite Robert Scot “Scotstarvet Bloodline” who’s grandfather George was a chief of clan Scot. Roberts grandfather was Sir John Scot, Lord Scotstarvit (1585–1670), was a Scottish laird, advocate, judge, politician and author. He was Director of Chancery and a Lord of Session.[1] His surname is often spelt as Scott, and Scotstarvit is also spelt as Scotstarvet or Scotstarver in recognition of his titles as a Buccleuch bloodline!

Sir John’s was a right hand of the Stuart King’s since the founding of the name of Scotland. Which was not the first documented of the name Scott or Scot in England and Scotland. The title goes to children of Queen Maude and the Plangent lines, but they were all family before the time of King William and the House of Normandy.

The first family named for Scotland was the Buccleuch line named Scott and Robert the engraver was directly documented with his fathers who were Normans from Flanders. Mysteries with Freemasonry, did directly associate with their families of Nobility back to the Holy lands! Where the most striking feature on the Templar seal is the Skull & Bones. Which dates backs to the crusade of Roger II, being the s

Herman Ulrich’s Tang Makers Mark’s! H.LU. & George Winchester Madis With Wilsons 2 Cents of Controversy!

47345x102

Just recently I had read the catalog references of James Julia Auctions House the State of Maine’s post on the past sale of the Herman Ulrich Winchester with the tank makers mark initials H.L.U.

EXTREMELY RARE HERMAN L. ULRICH ENGRAVED …

Left side of upper tang, under the wood, is hand engraved “H.L.U” (Herman Leslie Ulrich, 1846-1937). Receiver is beautifully engraved in broad, sweeping, …

George Madis said these are Hermans marks on his rifles! Knowing no documented history existed to say it was true! This is what  Mr. Wilson said! No records proved they where Herman Ulrich’s marks. but come on! Who would want to make fake marks of such. Wilson was correct on the fact of no records were existing to support Mr. Madis of Texas!
IMG_2133
Here is the truth with the rifle listed on the James Julia site above in this post!. This shows the left panel & fwd panel shows this cross with a diamond and circle in the center!
We find herman Ulrich’s makers marks, showing the “HU” Cut a clear as can be seen! The right side captures a “UH” but the U is a fat “U” with a sharply cut “H” that coincides with the multiple Roosevelt rifles makers marks of Herman. Where I presented and  I told my readers months ago! HU from left to right with basic English writing with the initial’s Herman Ulrich is standard! The UH from reading left to right being Ulrich Herman is a standard for a guild artist to place the letters in reverse! Because they were mathematically trained with everything being multipul-dimensions in their art!. The person trying to understand what I am saying! 1000 years ago to 5000 years ago, guild artists did this and were trained in the same manner! It only gets easier to understnad the Ulrich’s who are an open book at this time, but they are challenging when it comes to learning their style of engraving individually! They followed the Scottish European Guild controlled, American Banknote Company for their time period! Which was controlled by Foriegn powers who still enslave North America’s deficit to the Fed.
The United States Government shut down the American Banknote Company from engraving US notes adecade or two before the Ulrich’s ever engraved! But the Ulrichs taught the Russians (REAL COLLUSIONATIONS) and even did the King of Jersuelms Winchesters! Which came back to America and were DEVALUED because the history was never told!
Now for you collectors all over the World, the Ulrichs were not really United with the People of the United States! They were United with the foreign “Guilds”….Influence from foreign intrusion that was always in America since the days of the Jacobites and many other foreign powers, including the Church!
BELOW ARE BOTH HERMAN ULRICH’S MAKERS MARKS FOUND ON PRESIDENT ROOSEVELT’S WINCHESTERS.
herman-ulrich-roosevelt
The brass image “UH” is found on Roosevelt’s 1876 Winchester that is located in the Rossevelt Museum in Long Island, NY. The location is found on top of the rifle past the hammer. Factually there are “THREE” “UH maker’s marks on that top section, as clear as this one! The silver color “UH makers mark is found on the 44-40 Roosevelt Apach Scout rife on the left panel on the tree trunk, sideway’s!
IMG_2010
Pictured above: The Colt Lightning belonging to General Porfirio Diaz this is the only known signed Herman Leslie Ulrich engraved gun. The images were provied to me from the Canada Military Museum’s Curator. The gun is in the case and I had not requested the signed name. Months ago, I used this image for showing Hermans design on the panel and his paper money he engraved for Argentina, while working for the American Banknote Company.
Just on this panel there are a half dozen of Herman’s unique style of reversing his letter initials. You will see the fat outlined “U” and them the fine line “H” cut to the right of the U.
These will be more than a dozen marks of such by Herman on this rifle. Knowing its the only “signed” Herman gun other than the three Winchesters that are signed on the tang’s! Now it can be said that George Madis was correct that the “H.LU.” Winchester are by comparison with “HU/UH” makers marks found on these rifles are factually authentic. The larger Diaz image I posted above is a good image. You should be able to find a few marks of such. The best to look for are the fine razor cut marks, there are several “H” cuts on on the scene panel!
Later I will present two different Colt pistols that where believed to be by Herman and one was said to be his by the James Julia Cataloger. He was correct, having found two excellant examples of the UH/HU makers marks. The trick thing with this identification is separating the others persons who worked on the same guns as Herman. Hermans brother John engraved the horse rider and buffalo on this panel presented. Herman did with out any question did the Diaz monogram. Look for the tiny “H” razor cuts on the main of the Buffalo and the horse rider and the grass. Why do we see that? My basic theory is that if this was a commissioned piece to Herman. His brother who helped added his basic “H” marks to his own work. This would have been done by students, adding their teachers marks on a piece they were doing under their engraving master.
Additional images will be requested from Canada with the Diaz rife, I would bet any reader that there is 2 dozen or more Herman “UH” marks all over the gun!
Here is the information on a Colt, sold by James Julies and the cataloger says the pistol is Herman Ulrichs engraved piece!

FINE FACTORY ENGRAVED COLT HARTFORD LONDON MODEL 1877 DA LIGHTNING REVOLVER. SN 18662.

Quote: “Being a reasonably rare revolver with limited production, it can be speculated that this is one of the very few of this model engraved by Herman Ulrich”! The James Julia Auction House representative who speculated the pistol was engraved by Herman, was correct. Below is one of several makers marks on the pistol. The fine line cut “HU” initials of Herman. If images were better i would have posted others that I did see.

Gustav Young & His Masonic Art? Where Is his Makers Mark, Stamped Named on Any Gun?

In the past I mentioned where is Gustav Young’s Colonial German families information! Where I said its possible that Gustav was a direct descendant  of the Scottish exiled Royal family, married to the Stuarts! Well, I still don’t have the proof, but I’m going to extend the basics and whats recently learned!

No, question do I believe 100% that Gustav Young was a family line to the Scottish Bishops lines, to the direct families of Scotland! This is common sense among the Royal Scam that always has been! Never would it be allowed that a straight out German would be allowed to come into the guild of America of Scottish Control with Masonry, Engraving and the Guild structure that was established by the exiled powers influence in America! Never would I knock the German engravers, who are the direct families with the the Stuarts. Its what i call a Rope A-Dope! Meaning Gustav has to have a link direct to the Scottish Guild to have engraved in America! Adding his maternal German influence with the arts made such a more refined impact on engravings on guns from his time!

IMG_2065

Pictured above are Colts that are located at my State Capital, given to the People by Colt! acknowledged by Scholars as being Gustav Young Colt’s in this images! Here were see an amazing 47 Master masons symbolism with the horses front legs crossed and the rare hind legs showing the 7, but to be unmistaken the artist did it like a 77 with both legs. The inner leg closest to the 4 is the number 7.

But How do you know if this is true? Even though we have the Roosevelt 44-40 Winchester showing two horses doing this 47 symbol and the exhibition by Herman Ulrich on a Colt pistol! What makes it authentic to their association saying this is factual Gustav Young’s Colt? This I say because there is no colt Stamp showing a Gustave Young Makers Mark or Punched Stamp Marks factually documented! Wilson the gun book scholar gives dots on the hammers as a trade mark, we get the wolf on the hammer trade mark, but I say like Granny Hawkins, Doodley Squat!!!!! Just from this rough black and white image we see the clear as could be 47 thats established that only Young and the Ulrichs did this that we know of to date on documented guns, more so for the Ulrichs than Young! But, the Dog on that Colt Panel is a representation with Masonry to the Dog Star! We can confirm this from the basic letter “G” just below the dogs hind leg! Authenticating a Masonic series of symbols that are unmistakeable. So engraver scholar’s have no say in dispute! Not to say if I HELD THAT ACTUAL GUN, I CAN IN MINUTES! Show scholars vast Masonic esoteric symbolism! Remember, this was left to preserve the integrity of Moral Christian Free Masonry, or these many relics would not have been left to the public. Translation, of a simple term is that many engraved guns are documents!

Young most likely placed this makers mark letter “G” for his first name. The image is to rough to look for any initial Y in the art there. The basic G first represents Geometry with Masonry and or God, along with it being his Mark! To my readers who follow, Im going to put up cash to have a German Geni scholar find Young’s Genealogy history!

THE BIG PICTURE IS THE LAST POST on SAM’S 79 WINCHESTER YELLOW BOY! NO MAKERS MARKS OF YOUNG EXIST! Where this yellow boy is a Commissioned rifle that is Young’s, explain the punch letter “Y”! Adding to the fact that the work is by the Ulrich’s brothers Conrad and John! Note the X to the right of the punch? Often on dozens of Ulrich Winchesters I see the X as an X marks the spot to indicate an important meaning to symbolism they are pointing out!

IMG_2278

There is your Young ‘Y’ punch and the actual serial number of Sam’s rifle showing the last two numbers of the rifle being 88. Colt’s Lodge is 88 and the custom crest butt plate has different serial numbers ending in the Winchester engravers lodge 79.

Gustavo Young Sets Y punch mark on the earliest rendition of the Winchester Firearms Smoke Plate “Deer Jumping over Fallen Timbers” engraved design origins.

GUN ENGRAVING RESEARCHERS GARY GIANOTTI & Dave Fegley of Relics and Rifles LLC Dive into Forensic Science to Prove this rifle was one of the Lost Gustav Young Winchesters rifles he engraved with the Ulrich apprentices. Where the design of the deer Jumping of the fallen tree smoke plate design originated. Remember, the artists themselves brought the designs to Oliver Winchester, not the other way around from the Guilds standpoint. Masonic Guild Control Lodge 79, The General Wooster New Haven Masonic Lodge,

This spectacular Winchester Model 1866 with factory papers being made in 1882 sheds its engraving secrets after 135 years. This rifle like many engraved and unsigned custom Winchesters are shot down as not valuable. When they really are significant and should demand much higher prices when sold.

Lodge 79

Because of the lack of knowledge in the esoteric and Masonic art, very few or next to no one in the big money engraved gun world is cataloging this information. Information that can tell you who the engraver or engravers were and the type of person this gun was made for. The underside of this rifle displays an exceptionally rare #79 in the center of flared scrolls. Over looked by many because this flared design has been seen in several variations often with the All Seeing Eye with rays of light. Often in drawings, prints and on early flags of the 19th century.

Over looked by ALL WINCHESTER HISTORIANS is the tips of the scroll work. Even here you can see that they have dots and a slash like a worm. Which is exactly what the represents the worm on the cross would be symbolized by Jesus on a cross who said; “But I am a worm and not a man, scorned by everyone, despised by the people.” – Psalm 22:6

My friend Moe Bedard the Gnostic Worrier wrote a great document on the subject that I provided the link below!

The Ancient Symbol of the Serpent is Really a Worm | GnosticWarrior …

by Moe | Aug 28, 2014 | History of the Brotherhood, Meaning of Symbols | 24 comments … However, if you understand that the worm is one of the most ancient and strongest creatures on earth that is … from a serpent, and Scipio Africanus was said that he believed he was the son of a snake. ….. Designed by Moe Bedard.

So Many Winchesters have this on the ends of the scroll, which is seen on thousands of relic all the was back into the 18th century and way before! The finest you can see on this site are found on the Lawrence Washington Seal, flawless snake heads on the monogram scrolled ends. Many engraved rifles by the old engravers at Winchester were members of Lodge 79 in New Haven. They did many of these 79 number on many engravings, often very subtle, but can be seen. Annie Oakley’s rifle on this blog shows one. Seeing this massive 79 with the worms or Snakes in good detail and the flare specifically represents the “LIGHT” with Freemasonry. The tic tac toe checkering is located on a few locations of this rifle. Over looked by experts on many Winchester, where the checking is whats called a Masonic Pig Pen Cipher. Inside the boxes they use letters or symbols that write messages. often on the 18th century guns, they often shade those symbols and often wear over time, Look at the rifles side panel and see the big pig pen cipher box and you may see one two symbols if you eye is good to see them.
winchester2 copy.png
What can be said with out knowing who owned the rifle, would be that he was most likley a Mason from the New Haven, CT. the General Wooster Masonic Lodge 79. Being well associated or personally knew the artists who engraved this rifle around and 1882.
Now it gets even better because the rifle on the underside has a rather large letter “Y” punched into the metal. My first thought was that the rifle was engraved by Colts famous engraver Gustav Young. Except very wonder scholars who own several of them said its not his style. This was important to know this because the only other people who could have done this custom work at that time was an Ulrich. Young must have had the commission and the Ulrich’s Conrad and Johns letter initials are found. Adding that there is also a letter “B” engraved on the panel that I also believe was one of the Ulrich’s teachers mark.
Sams gun4
The other panel is your typical style of the known smoke plate design of Winchester with a deer jumping over a log. Would a New haven Lodge of Masons, who were the Winchester engravers allow some person to engrave this gun? No because it is their work in a custom was to not be anything like the factory work. What I know is if people were engraving guns like this, not part of the Masonic Guild of engravers. My guess you would have had a short life when they found you, so my guess is the Guilds had tight control on engravers back then!
Another interesting thing the engravers did was select rifles like this with the serial numbers on the gun and butt plate that have numbers representing the Lodge! Unique her is the Winchester rifle number has 88 in the number and the butt plate 79. 88 is the Lodge associated to Colt with Young and the Ulrich as 79 is with the Ulrich’s. Teddy Roosevelt’s rediscovered Winchester has the number ending with the DC Presidents Lodge number. There is no conspiracy, but this is factual because these great artists were into numbers with geometry and Masonry. More hardcore than most Masons and the engravers for centuries passed down vast ancient knowledge with their art. This has been see with the serial numbers on a dozen rifles that have great esoteric or Masonic art than most engraved rifles by these artist.
This rifle will be on the market this December and its a rifle collectors do not want to pass up!
Joh Ulrichs JU initials with the U letter bent and invited, this is seen on dozens of Winchesters that are signed John Ulrich that are factory pieces! Even Conrad used the bent U with his odd ball C initials!

Ames Scale Model Cannon Last Of The Big Iron Gun’s in US History! FOR SALE…….

IMG_2061

THIS IS NOW BEING OFFERED FOR SALE! PLEASE INQUIRE IF YOUR INTERESTED….

This Relic is going to be for sale in the renowned sales catalog of Gary Hendershott this December! http://www.GaryHendershott.net

Pictured Above is a historical scale model Ames cannon. The relic was dragged up on a shipwreck site in Long Island Sound. The Ames Connecticut Cannon foundry was founded by the Massachusettes Ames family member Horatio Ames.

Ames made two massive test cannons at the end of the iron ordnance era, where steel was coming into play. Ames lined the barrels with a steel sleeve that made the cannon much stronger, but the big guns did not convince the US Government to purchase the inovated design for equiping US Naval ships in 1870’s. There was documents stating that Ames sent agents to Europe in a last ditch effort to sell the new design. However it failed because of the new technology of making steel cannon.

This scale model is beleived to have been one of the pieces left over that was not given to a European Naval purchasing agent. Since it is known that the ship wreck it came from was returning from Europe that sank a mile or two before the inlet of its home port. Two massive anchors and many artifacts have been found from the site with European goods for sale on the American market. Which confirms the ship had returned from Europe.

IMG_2055 (2)

Pictured above is a historical cannon that stood at a Revolutionary War Fort, named Fort Trumbull. For decades the cannon could not be identified to the original foundry, until in recent years. Documents were found, regarding the Connecticut Ames Foundry that placed steel sleeves in the iron barrels and the metal band around the barrel. Where Horatio Ames used his famous trip hammers named “Thor & Odin” to pound out this barrel bands.

What does it all boil down too? These images of the scale model and this 8-12 pounder cannon are the remnants of the “VERY LAST IRON CANNON” made in US history back in the 1870’s. Right at the time that steel, replaced iron that ended the era of cannon! The barrel bands has two five pointed stars, which is surprising to see.
