Seneca Chief Farmers Brother’s 1792 Silver Plated IPM

Last winter I was fortunate to go to NY and see in hand Chief Farmer’s Brother’s small George Washington 1792 peace medal. It was an exciting visit and I was allowed to study the medal in hand and have the medal XRF tested.

The results showed that the medal was plated with coin silver and the plates were +60% silver that was mixed with a -30% copper. You can see the wear on the medal where the plating is worn and the plating area shows a copper color discoloration around the medal

The medal is in excellent condition and the only area showing the plating is around the outside circumference of the medal edge.

You can see the plating worn of the wire.
